I'm finally recovered from a nasty 2-day headache. Started about the time of the mini-earthquake we had which I never even noticed although I did wake about the that time with this headache. Might be allergies and might be the heat. And might come back soon, but I won't think about that now. Instead I decided to finish up a couple of cards from stitched winter holiday designs to make me think cooling thoughts.
The first is a design by Shepherd's Bush from the 2008 JCS ornament issue. The lettering said "Starry Night", but I preferred 'Reindeer X-ing' to lighten it up. Done on a scrap of Enchanted Fabrics Cafe Mocha Flair...a long gone company and color now.
And the 2nd card is a Prairie Schooler design from booklet 151, "Santa and Snowmen". The fabric is the same color and dyer as the first card, but this was the painted line instead of the flair. I really miss Enchanted Fabrics. Both of these are 18 count Aida and after dying, the fabric is so soft to work with, yet has really good body for using on a card.
Now I'm going to be brave and go out in the heat with my fingers crossed that my head behaves.
Hope you are feeling better soon, I've had a really chesty cold that just won't go away. Seems the wrong thing to have in the summer, lol.Two lovely cards, hope they keep you thinking cool thoughts
ReplyDeletewow...those cards look lovely
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice cards, Annie. I stitched the PS one myself, but gave it away--guess I need to do it one more time and keep it! I love that little bunny nestled up to his snowman friend.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your headaches don't reappear. I also get weather related headaches (mine are a good predictor that rain is on the way). Not fun...
Try to stay cool down in that DC heat!
Cute cards, both of them! I stitched the SB design recently too, it was a fun stitch. Hope your headache stays away.
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards Annie. Hope you are feeling better soon. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love your 2 cards ! Very cute !
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better and your headaches will not come back..
Such beautiful card stitchings!! Hope you feel better and soon!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are delightful and stitched so neatly.
ReplyDeleteI think winter cold is easier than summer heat, as it is hard to stay cool. am off to sit by my fireside.
I hope you feel better soon. I sometimes get headaches due to weather changes or allergies. When I don't feel well, the last thing I want is heat. I hope it cools down for you soon or you find a cool spot to sit for a while.
ReplyDeleteThe cards are wonderful!
I hope the headache has remained away. I love your idea of stitching Christmas designs to beat the heat!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful cards, Annie. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better very soon.
I'm sorry to hear about your headache, Annie. I hope it didn't come back when you went out. I love your psychological AC cards!!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be cool if you could predict earthquakes with your headaches? You wouldn't want to live in California, tho. Or maybe not! As always, I love your cross-stitch cards.
ReplyDeleteThose are really nice looking cards!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Your cards are so pretty Annie!
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards Annie. Love the change you did to the SB one.

I think changing the wording on the first design was very clever.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better. It looked cloudy today, maybe that will break the heat. How did you do the snowflakes? are they stickers?
ReplyDeleteHeadaches are the worst! Glad you are feeling a bit better. I heard about the quake while I was on vacation - freaky! Your stitching is adorable. Love the cards!
