Holds Upon Happiness

I seem to be in a somewhat unproductive period these days with respect to stitching and crafting. Too many distractions I guess and not in the right frame of mind. But I did finish stitching this very sweet design from The Sampler Girl. This is done on a piece of 32-count hand-dyed Lugana from Sassy. The fabric looked so different in various lights that it was tricky to pick colors. But I'm pretty happy with the results. I'm planning to make it into a pillow trimmed with the print corduroy fabric in the photo. Just didn't have enough of that for a backing too, so I have to find the right backing fabric before I sew it up.



Spring break is over in the Birthday Village and the kids are going back to school. I tried stitching the kids just as they were designed, but since I had changed the girl on the swing, the new kids just didn't match. So they are all completely re-charted to be a little more in proportion. Don't know if I love them, but I was definitely ready to let them stay as is after stitching them.

    You say you haven't done much... but you did a great job on your both pieces..
    Maybe wen the weather is more stable it wil come back :)

    As always everything looks so bright and cheerful and pretty! I love that design of Tanya's - printed it out but haven't stitched it yet. Your color choices are very nice. The Birthday Village is just wonderful, and I wouldn't change a thing!

    I hadn't seen that design from The Sampler Girl yet, Annie--your stitching of it is so pretty and I think the colors you chose work perfectly with Sassy's lugana...

    Love that cute little village--I never can resist anything miniature or little :) Cute children, too--they are perfect as you stitched them!

    Hold Upon Happiness looks great...I really like that chart! The Village is coming along great and so far the girl on the swing is my favourite part. Happy stitching!

    Hi Annie, I've been able to visit your blog at last, and have been admiring all your stitching. Everything is so cute!
    I have ordered another computer (a few years younger than mine) so when I get it hooked up, I hope to be able to visit all my blog friends more regularly. I'm on Ken's laptop right now because my PC has slowed down to almost nothing...
