I've been gradually constructing Ezmeralda's House by Brightneedle from the top down. I started in December, but since this is a larger project than I usually tackle, I've just worked on it intermittently swapping in more small projects. This house turns out to be really great fun to stitch. With the exception of the border, there are really no long boring areas to slog through. And the details are just so much fun. I'm using light coffee 32 count linen from Vikki Clayton, but the color is really not very true in the photo. The whole thing is much more light brown. The designers suggested that one stitch the whole house frame first. That to me sounded like a recipe for frog legs! I fill in as I go and it's proved to be a good decision. Lots of touch points to check your work along the way.
Cute, cute, cute, Annie! I love all the little details in this one especially the "LaBooTique" shopping bag stashed up in the attic. I wonder what the witch has hiding in it? Beautiful stitching!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching. Looks great and the details are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSandy
I've seen this pattern so many times but never stitched. This is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis is just too cute and so me. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI have to locate it now, Thanks!!lol
That looks wonderful so far. I'm disappointed that BN seem to have taken a designing break (or retired completely?), as their designs are so intricate.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute - it looks like such a fun stitch! The details are great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun piece and you've made great progress. Can't wait to see the rest.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute design you are making... It looks almost finished...
ReplyDeleteGreat progress. I prefer to fill in on the way too
ReplyDeleteThis is darling, Annie! I love all the BN houses but this is my favorite, by far!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cute! I have to agree with you that stitching a border first is always a recipe for disaster. I think the way you're going it is the best way!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great!
ReplyDeleteSweet! I didn't know you were working on this :o)
ReplyDeleteIt's looking great Miss Annie :)
ReplyDeleteThat's looks so cute! love the little spider! It must be very fun to stitch, Annie. Looking forward to see your next update. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's looking GREAT!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. I especially love the socks hanging out of the drawer. Doing all the border would just be too scary to me too. I think you're taking a really smart approach by filling in the frame of the house along the way.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching...i love it
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!! That is too, too cute. I really wish that BN hadn't stopped designing--they did such fun stuff.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very cute design and your progress so far is looking great.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! Great progress, and it looks like you were right on with your method of stitching the house border :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to see each detail emerge! Not too scary a place - quite cozy if you are a witch!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteDepending on my mood I either stitch frames as I go, or at the very end. But stitch it at the start sounds like a recipe for frogging to me too!
I'm lovin' Ezmeralda's House! I think you are very smart to stitch the details as you go....I'm hatin' frog legs!
ReplyDeleteThat looks spooky wonderful! Even though I'm not a Halloweenie person, I love the design.
ReplyDeleteYou're right is better filling it, I too need to develop a sense of accomplishment as I go.
