Cards for Q4

Haven't felt like doing much stitching or crafting lately.  I guess it's just time for a break.  Or else it's because I have been watching "Weeds" on DVD and it's taking my full attention.  I did manage to finish a couple of cards.

I was browsing through the Aug, 2015,  JCS magazine and noticed a design I had skipped over completely on my first pass.  It was too Christmasy for the types of things I stitch.  But when I looked closer, I saw that I could extract part of the design and make a pretty cool card.  It's the center of the Quaker Medallion by Giulia Manfredini.  I think the linen is 32 count HDF Pecan Butter or Bunny Brown from back in the day.  I wasn't expecting the cut-out window to look so much like a "D".  I guess I need to find a Diane, Dina, Doris or Danielle to give it to since it's much too girly for a Dan, Dean, David, or Dick.

For those of you planning a Halloween getaway, I think there is still room left at "Witch Inn" by Homespun Elegance if you dare to spend the night.  This design has been patiently waiting to be stitched for a year.

Both pics seem kind of blurry.  Too much light? Not enough?  Shaky hands?  Whatever....

Think we all need a break from time to time. I'm sure you will find the right person to give the card to

Lovely finishes!! I often feel like not crafting many times but then come back soon. I hope you find the right 'D' or maybe you can make a new friend to gift :)

Lovely cards!! Sometimes a stitching/crafting break is needed.

They're both great cards! I've done that sort of thing too, where I cut something and it looks more like a D than I thought. I've been flagging with stitching and knitting and all too. Maybe it's the weather??

Oh I don't know. I don't think it has to be a D at all. It looks great!

Annie, these cards are terrific. And I'm sure you will easily find friends and family to send them to. Even some female starting with D, lol. I just love your card making skills, there is just always as much decoration as needed an never too much. I have to work on this.

It's amazing how the amount of stitching you get done does depend on what's on TV, isn't it, Annie? I'm the same way--I think that's why I tend to watch things that aren't too visual when I stich. If it's a mystery or highly complex plot, I just have to put my needle and thread away...

Love both of your cards (would not be seeking out a room at Witch Inn, though!!). I like how you pulled out just part of the motif for the first card--need to remember to do that more often.

Happy September to you--hope it's a good month :)

They are both very pretty, Annie. I really like the one with the bird.

I love these. You did such a good job on them. The 'D' one is my favorite. I am going to see if I have that magazine! :)

If you can't find anyone to give the card to, my middle name is Diane...hee hee! :) As usual, your finishes are lovely.

I'm struggling to find time to stitch as well but that's because the garden/canning has taken up a lot of my time recently. This too shall pass and in a short time, I'll be forced to be back inside.

Love the Halloween piece...those pumpkins look fierce! Are they the Inn bouncers??

The cards you make are amazing. I think you are the queen of all small things! Do you have an etsy shop to sell your things? If not, you should! You always seem to find interesting small items to stitch and create something nice out of them! Well done!

Sometimes we just need to take a break - from everything.

I always love your cards and your creativity.
